We have been playing together for five years now, and honestly, I don’t think many neighborhood teams can say that. So really… well done to all of us.
For me, what makes this achievement special is that we never compromised our family time. We start early, finish early, and we are all back home in time for breakfast. I think that’s a big reason why we have been able to keep this going for so long. I’m sure many of you will agree.
It’s not easy to play every weekend, especially in San Diego where finding a cricket ground is always a challenge. Yet, in spite of that, we still show up every week. That shows how much interest, commitment, and passion everyone in this club has.
And honestly, have you ever heard of a team that rotates captaincy? We do. It’s one of the things that makes this group special. Everyone gets a chance to lead, everyone gets their moment, and it keeps the whole team connected and involved.
And of course, we have members in their 50s… and one person who is getting very close to 60 soon 😄. My hope is that this same team will be there to celebrate that milestone birthday on the field.
Congrats to everyone who has been part of this journey. Thank you for showing up, supporting each other, and keeping this going.
See you all in the next blog, and on the ground next weekend.
